TISSMAT Notifications and Updates


Candidates applying for MA (HRM&LR) and / or MA (ODCL) programmes, are required to appear for the TISS Management Aptitude Test (TISS-MAT) in addition to the TISS-NET Examination. The TISS Management Aptitude Test (MAT) will be conducted immediately after the TISS-NET examination.

NEGATIVE MARKING: Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark and each wrong answer will result in 0.25 negative marks.
TISS-MAT Score will be considered along with the Stage 2 of the admission process and thus will be considered only for those who are shortlisted for Stage 2. TISS-MAT Score will be aggregated with the score of PIT and PI in the following manner to arrive at the final score for selection.

  • TISS-MAT : 30%
  • Pre-Interview Test (PIT) : 40%
  • Personal Interview (PI) : 30%

TISSMAT Syllabus

TISSMAT Exam Pattern

All 3 sections had 15 Questions – DI, RC and Business Awareness.

Reading Comprehension:
English RC section had two passages:
1st RC on Railway operating unit consisting of 8 questions.
2nd RC on Business & Economics was consisting of 7 questions.
RC was bit on factual interpretation and logical analysis of the comprehension.
Overall RCs were moderate in difficulty level.

Business Awareness:
Business Awareness section had recent collaborations & mergers.
Few questions are from latest business news & Current Affairs.
Few questions are from labour relation.
RC was bit on factual interpretation and logical analysis of the comprehension.
Overall RCs were moderate in difficulty level.

Perfect TISSMAT Score:
22 to 25 is a good TISSMAT score for good chances in Final Composite Score calculation.
Do note that there is no sectional or overall cut-off for TISSMAT.

FAQ


TISSMAT will be conducted for admission of the candidates to the postgraduate courses in management offered by TISS while TISSNET is conducted for all postgraduate courses of TISSNET
Focus more on weak topics. Note it, TISSNET and TISSMAT are both strictly aptitude screening examination. Devote more time to the subject which you are not up to the mark with. Concentrate on lengthy but simple questions.
